Representatives of many nationalities live in territory of Ukraine. Ukrainians are approximately 72% population, Russians - 22%. Except, there are Belorussian, Jewries, Moldavians, Poland, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Romanians, Czekhes, Gagauzy, Tatars, Gipsies, Azerbaijanians, Uzbeks, Greeks others. The basic places of settling Ukrainians are western, central and north regions of republic.
The least percent of Ukrainians is observed in south-east and south regions. The habitants of Ukraine hear different directions of christianity. Majority from them are pravoslavnye, considerable part are catholics. Also the role of protestants is traditionally great here.
Ukrainian holidays are celebrated not only in Ukraine but also in other states, for example in Russia.
Here are whole villages talking in cleanly ethnic Ukrainian language. And diaspora of Ukrainians occupies 3-4 place, as compared to other nationalities.
Discusses about what holidays need to acknowledge, and what of them need abolish, are conducted until now, therefore their list changes periodically. But everybody thinks variously.
But there is such holidays, which are marked always and everywhere, regardless of other opinions.

January, the 1st - is New Year.
January, the 7th - Christmas.
March, the 8th is the International woman's day.
April or May - is Easter.
May, the 1st is a Day of international solidarity of worker.
May, the 9th is a Victory Day.
June, the 19th is Trinity.
June, the 28th is the Day of Ukraine Constitution.
Augusts, the 24th is a Day of Ukrainian independence.
